Car wrapping in Manchester and Cheshire by Wrapvehicles

Wow, car wrapping has really exploded in popularity over the last few years. Just a few years ago we had to explain to everybody exactly what a car wrap is. But now it seems to be common knowledge. If you are in the minority that doesn’t know, a car wrap is a service we offer at Wrapvehicles Manchester, we use a self adhesive vinyl to cover the exterior panels of a car or other suitable vehicle, changing it’s colour (we can also add a printed design on to it if required).

Now the self adhesive vinyls we use at Wrapvehicles Manchester are not just any type of vinyl, they have been specially designed to stretch, allowing them to conform to the complex shapes of cars. The other key feature of the car wrapping vinyls is that they have been manufactured to not have a memory, so they will not shrink back and will stay conformed to the body of the car for years.

The car wrapping we offer at Wrapvehicles Manchester is amazing, the vinyl brands give us a choice of over 300 colours, these range from popular colours that are similar to regular paint finishes. With a gloss topcoat and metallic elements within the colour. So getting your car wrapped in a a metallic blue or diamond white metallic isn't an issue.
But where the car wrapping colour ranges really show their worth is in the alternative finishes. We have a huge range of matte colours available, these include flat matte, solid coloured mattes, metallic mattes, satin mattes, and new metallic satin mattes. To get your car painted in a matte paint from the manufacturers usually cost well over £6,000 as an optional extra. With our matte car wraps you can get a matte colour on your car that looks incredibly similar to the paint options for a fraction of the cost.

Elsewhere In our car wrapping colour range we can offer a variety of pearlescent finishes and several iridescent finishes that change colour depending on the angle they are viewed at. In addition to the colours available we also have the ability to add textured vinyl wraps, textures including carbon fibre, brushed metal, leather, alligator skin and sequins.

Other options in our car wrapping colour range includes candy colours that have a very deep depth of colour. And our metallic range features special hyper metallics that have glitter and metal flake effects built into them.

Overall the car wrapping colour ranges we have available at Wrapvehicles Manchester are very exciting and can create a bespoke car that is a one-off.

Once you have decide on your car wrap colour our massively experienced wrapping team prep the car for wrapping by removing all trims that need to be removed (window trims, grilles, headlights, etc). We then often remove the door handles, wing mirrors and lights to make the coverage of the bodywork as complete as possible.

The next step is to thoroughly clean the car using specialist surface preparation solutions, these clean off all grease and micro dirt. Giving us a surface that will be a perfect as possible, meaning we get a great application of the vinyl that produced no bubbles, creases, etc.

We use heat guns to stretch the vinyl, this allows it to confirm better to the complex curves of a car body. We the push the vinyl onto the body and trim the edges fo the vinyl once it is installed fully to the panels.

The final step for the installation is to use the heat gun to “set” the vehicle wrapping vinyl by heating it to a set temperature that removes its elastic memory and permanently conforms it to the shape we have wrapped it to.

Once this is done the wrap installation is complete, we then refit all the parts we removed and clean the surface down to remove and fingerprints that may have been caused during the installation.

An optional extra we have recently started offering for our car wraps is the vehicle wrap ceramic coating. This ceramic coating adds a layer of protection to the vinyls surface that makes it more robust, hard-wearing and also makes it hydrophobic. This means that water will bead off it, so it becomes less prone to dirt and needs washing less. Whilst also adding an extra glossy finish that gives the colour a deeper tone.

Car wrapping is always improving and innovating, so keep an eye on our social media channels. We regularly post images and information about now products in the car wrapping sector as well as showing off our recent car wrap installations.
